Moving on...

Here's a new trick Maddy has been learing in the last couple of days. Pretty soon she'll be racing all over the apartment, four-wheel-drive style.
Look out for that Chicken behind you baby!

Look at this last photo where she's doing push ups and working up a real sweat. Good breathing technique. I haven't been able to push-ups like that for a while.

Baby was too small to sit on a horse on the merry-go-round (the horses move up and down and at the highest point baby would be a bit too high for Charmaine to hang on to her) so they had to sit on the bench where the old people sit. They still had fun spinning around, though.

Disney

Here we are! At long last Hong Kong Disney has opened and last Sunday was a really nice day. Maddy is a bit young to appreciate most of what was going on, but I had never been to any Disney. Unfortunately, we didn't go on any rides except Charmaine took baby on the merry-go-round.

This is a picture of Maddy in Mickey Mouse sunglasses. Like most people, we didn't buy anything. We just took the picture and put the sunglasses back on the rack.

Getting Ready for Mickey

Here we are getting ready for a company outing at Disney. About 14-15 degrees celcius out there this morning, so pretty cool for Hong Kong. That's why we're breaking out the hat (or 'toque' for you Canadians reading). We'll let you know how it goes.

Village People

Here we are at the Man village (Chau Tau Tseun) up near the border to China. We took a spin up to the village over the weekend to check in on the new house (it was built earlier this year) and to drop off some baby stuff that Yu Yu has grown out of or can't use any more. One day we will have to do a bbq up there.

My mom keeps saying that we should all move up there to save money for the baby to go to school and stuff. Maybe we'll think about it, if I can convince the ladies...

Where are my grapes? (peeled please)

Yu Yu thinks she is some kind of Roman emperor lying around like this. Must be because we watched Gladiator on dvd last night when Charmaine was out at the Sandy Lam concert. Pretty soon Charmaine will be fanning her with the giant palm leaves and I'll be feeding her peeled grapes.





She is also sitting very well now although right after this picture she fell forward reaching for something. Thank goodness for the new carpet...

No shirts for me or baby today around the apartment. It continues to be hot for this time of year in Hong Kong.








Look at her hair! It is getting pretty long and more girly although every time we go out some knucklehead will ask if Maddy's a boy or a girl (even when she's wearing a pink dress).

H5N1?

Maddy isn't scared. In fact, this giant chicken is a good friend of Yu Yu's (Man Hei Yu is Maddy's Chinese name). Charmaine bought it because Yu Yu was born in the year of the Chicken.

After getting better from the cough Maddy has been very fussy about needing to be held. Since we held her nearly 100% of the time when she was sick she continues to demand to be held.










At least her appetite is back to normal. I was beginning to wonder if she was going to get the whole thing in her mouth :-0

Back to normal, almost

Thankfully Maddy is feeling much better. The cough is almost gone and I took the afternoon off yesterday and took a long walk with her in the nice weather. However, she seems to be more naughty since she's gotten better. We'll keep you posted...

Sick Day :-(

It had to happen sooner or later. Maddy is sick. She was running a low grade fever a couple of days ago and developed a wicked cough on Saturday. She would cough until she gagged and threw up. Sounded awful. Saturday night after waking up from a nap at around 7:30 pm she coughed non-stop for about 20 minutes and threw up twice. We took her to the hospital to make sure her lungs weren't congested/infected (sorry for missing your wedding dinner, Vincent). Doctor said they were clear and she was much better during the night and this morning. You can see that her mood still wasn't great on Sunday though.



Not her usual smiley self. Also, a few minutes after we put her in this Roots track suit, she threw up all over the place after coughing fit. Not nearly as bad as last night though. After changing her outfit, I played with her on our new carpet and a nice down blanket Charmaine's friend Charlotte got for baby and she promptly fell asleep, so I wrapped her up and let her sleep.
