"It rubs the lotion on its skin...

or it gets the hose again." (Silence of the Lambs 1991)

No, mom isn't giving Maddy multiple slaps to the face (Benny Hill style), she is just applying some skin cream.

The baby is very happy when it's all over.

Hey baby, let's go for a spin

Lucas and family were over for dinner during the week-end and despite his little grin, Maddy wasn't sure if she should take a ride with him.
This is her trying to make a break for it.

In the end they did sit still for a picture, but by this time Lucas was starting to think whether all this was worth the effort. He was very good with the baby and shared toys with her all night.

Free at last.

Lean On Me

These pictures are from Lauren's 2nd birthday bash blowout. Lauren is lending a shoulder for Maddy to lean on after going under the limbo balloon.

It was a great time and all the kids had fun.

We need to get the baby into a playgroup quickly. She was yelling with excitement so much she nearly lost her voice.

She ended up going to bed over an hour earlier than normal after the day's festivities.

CAUTION! WIDE LOAD!

Cue the bubbles

Don't know if anyone remembers The Lawrence Welk Show but as a kid I only remembered that they always had bubbles during the ballroom dancing part.

I don't know if baby would've been able to control herself.

Looks one popped near her eye!

Dribblin'

Although this is not the kind of dribbling that baby normally does she is getting the idea.

Too bad the ball is about half her height right now.

Reminds of the song by Tyrone Shoelaces, 'Basketball Jones'. And it goes a little something like this (Hit it):

"Basketball Jones, I got a Basketball JonesGot a Basketball Jones, oh baby, oo-oo-ooo.

Yes, I am the victim of a Basketball Jones
Ever since I was a little baby, I always be dribblin'
In fac', I was de baddest dribbler in the whole neighborhood
Then one day, my mama bought me a basketball
And I loved that basketballI took that basketball with me everywhere I went
That basketball was like a basketball to me

I even put that basketball underneath my pillow
Maybe that's why I can't sleep at night
I need help, ladies and gentlemens
I need someone to stand beside me
I need, I need someone to set a pick for me at the free-throw line of life
Someone I can pass to
Someone to hit the open man on the give-and-go
And not end up in the popcorn machine
So cheerleaders, help me out...

Gimme the ball
I'll go one-on-one against the world, left-handed
I could stuff it from center court with my toes
I could jump on top of the backboard, take off a quarter, leave fifteen cents change
I could, I could dribble behind my back
I got more moves than Ex-Lax
I'm bad
I could dribble with my tongue
Here I go down court, try to stop me
You can't stop me 'cause I got a Basketball Jones
Here I come
That's my hook shot with my eyebrow
Yeah, I could dunk it with my nose
I'm, I'm bad as King Kong, gimme the ball..."

'You talkin' to me?'

This picture of the baby reminds me of the movie Taxi Driver when Robert DeNiro's character Travis is in front of the mirror with his sliding gun-up-the-sleeve mechanism:

"You talkin to me? You talkin to me? You talkin to me? Then who the hell else are you talkin to? You talkin' to me? Well I'm the only one here. Who do you think you're talking to? Oh yeah? Huh? Okay."

Comin' to getcha

Maddy definitely knows when the lens is on her.

This is her closing in to try and get her little hands on the camera.
Gonna need to keep an eye on this one.

Bowen Road

Here we are whizzing along Bowen Road this afternoon. We walked for over an hour and you can see from the previous post that Yu Yu was knackered by the end of it.

Baby was doing the funky chicken at one of the little parks we stopped at along the way.
Here's where I nearly dropped the baby on her head. Just kidding mom, take it easy. Hahaha.
