Walk this Way

Talk this way. That is Yu Yu's theme over the week-end. She's getting very chatty and continues to improve on her walking. These were taken up at our New Territories village today.

Sack o' potatoes

This kid is getting heavy. When I need to carry her for extended periods of time I need to utilize various techniques.

Hong Kong Park

We took a walk to Hong Kong Park today. Unfortunately they were renovating many of the bird enclosures so the pink flamingos were nowhere to be seen. The monkeys and orangutans were also mostly asleep and not swinging around like we would have liked. Anyway, this gave baby some time to work on her walking.

Clifford and the Ladies

This is a phrase that doesn't come up often but my colleague Clifford is blogging and has now had his second daughter. We were flying back from a business trip in Shanghai together and the first message he got on his phone when we landed at 8:10pm was "Get your as* to the hospital" and baby Janae was born at 9:45. Thank goodness we caught an early flight back to Hong Kong.

Baby Steps

Baby has taken her first steps in the last couple of days.


No running around or anything like that, just a baby step or two here and there.
Time to start baby-proofing the apartment. That new carpet sure comes in hand for her bumpy landings.
You can also see her second tooth coming in to keep her first one company.

Early Sunday Morning

This kid doesn't get it sometimes. She doesn't understand that on Sundays people are supposed to sleep in.

Yu Yu had other ideas though. After her morning feeding she will normally take another nap right away. Not today. Lucky me.
However, once you've resigned yourself to the fact that she is not going to go back to sleep and have to play with her it doesn't seem like any trouble at all.

How could you be upset with a face this this?

Charmaine is still sleeping. Maybe I'll go throw Maddy on top of her...

Stand Up and be Counted

Here's Maddy working on her balance. If you can distract her or put something interesting in her hands she will sometimes forget that she is standing and can go for 10 seconds or more at a time.

Keeps us nervous though because once she figures out what is going on she'll drop to her bum with a bang.

It's Raining Babies!

Look who decided to drop in this afternoon. It's a very nice Sunday here in Hong Kong and we have just got back from a walk up to the peak.
Fortunately, Maddy hadn't eaten just before these pictures were taken!

Friends?

As you can see here, Lauren really does like Maddy...


Sometimes she gets a bit carried away though.
Don't worry, Maddy was only out for a couple of seconds after Lauren put the sleeper on her.

Glum Chums

This is Maddy with her jeh jeh Lauren the daughter of our friends Clifford and Ivy. They seem a little down here but they are good friends.
